6/27/15 Peterborough, ON

6/27/15 Peterborough
Saturday
The forecast for today and tomorrow is not so good. Overcast and breezy here until late this afternoon. Then lots of rain. Too bad as there is a large concert here tonight – more about that in a minute.
We decided to explore some of the Rotary Greenway bike trail that weaves through Peterborough. Though a little cool, it was a nice ride & a great way to see the city.

While in town we found a cute little restaurant with a quiet little outside patio area and had a “peameal” sandwich. This is a Canadian favorite that is Canadian Bacon coated in cornmeal.

The city had a free concert right next to our marina Saturday night that would normally have pulled in 13,000 people. Due to the storms going through, it wasn’t nearly so crowded.

Randy Bachman, formerly of The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive, was the headliner. In spite of the rain, it was a fabulous concert. We took our chairs, dressed up in our foulies and really enjoyed the concert.
