Indian Harbour to Wye Heritage Marina 6/17,18

6/17, 18 Indian Harbour to Wye Heritage Marina
Our trip from Indian Harbour to the marina near Midland, ON kept us busy looking for markers but wasn't as much of a nail biter as previous days. It was just longer and in open water where the markers were sometimes a couple of miles apart. Lots of binocular time.

It is supposed to rain with thunderstorms Thursday afternoon so we're going to spend a couple of nights at the marina getting the boat ready to begin traversing the 43 locks on the 240 mile Trent-Severn waterway. We plan to head out Friday morning.

Today, Carol did laundry on the boat while Jim did a number of boat projects. We had picked up lots of mud from our anchoring in Georgian Bay so washing down Samba was a big one.

Another was blowing up our 6 ball fenders that we'll need when we begin going through the locks. 3 on each side of the boat along with our other 10 regular fenders!

Thursday evening to celebrate, we cooked some of our bass on the grill - yum! Then we walked to the restaurant here in the marina to try some of their "butter tarts" which one of the waitresses described as pecan pie without the pecans. In this area, butter tarts are really popular. We've decided that the locals are right, they are wonderful.
