| Our marina in Charleston |
Tuesday, 10/27
Previously, we had moved Samba from the Charleston City Marina to the Harborage at Ashley Marina where she waited patiently for us while we went home to celebrate Carol's big 60th birthday. Jim's sister, Dianna and her husband, Stan flew in to Charleston on Monday and met us the next morning at our marina. Though they were to have met us around 9:00, mother nature had other plans.
 |
| The entrance to our marina was flooded |
That night was a super full moon and the high tide at 8:30 in the morning was the 3rd highest tide on record for Charleston!! There was much flooding and though we were safe on our boat, the docks to the marina were underwater. We called Di & Stan and had them wait for the tide to go down some before trying to meet us. Wow!

Di & Stan were finally able to get to Samba around 10:30. After gear was stowed & the safety orientation completed, we left at noon on our 3 1/2 hour trip to our anchorage on the Edisto river.
We had clouds and rain pretty much all day as the after effects of the monster hurricane that hit Mexico were just blowing through our area. Still, as Stan said, a bad day on the water is so much better than a good day anywhere else.
