10/30/15 - Savannah, GA - Feldmans

Friday, 10/30/15 - Savannah
A pre-dawn cargo ship going by

There is a constant parade of large ships passing throughout the day and night here. Each time, we can hear the low rumble of their engines coming long before we feel their bow wave which is sometimes pretty large.

When they go by, they are so tall and so close, they blot out the sky. Quite an experience!
Sunrise on the Savannah River
Most of these massive ships barely fit under the Savannah bridge!
Notice the semi trucks right above the ship!

These behemoths are really amazing when they're up close & personal like this!

Notice the 2 men on the bow!

Working on our eggs benedict breakfast
How is this possible?
After breakfast we took a trolley tour of Savannah

The famous steeple where the feather fell
in the Forest Gump opening scene.

The pirate house
After the trolley tour, we found a fun little restaurant on the river that served both oyster po' boy sandwiches & fresh beignets for dessert. It was a great way to spend our last meal with Di & Stan before they headed back home Friday afternoon.
