Tarpum Bay

Tarpum Bay is a place we always wanted to visit but have never been able to because of wind issues. It's an open and very shallow bay. Even as far out as we anchored, we had 2 to 3 feet of water under our keel. Ughhh.

They have 2 docks and both were busy cleaning fish. The locals put out fish traps and seem to do pretty well.

Isn't this a kewl sign?

How fun is this? Notice Samba in the background.

Someone was really creative with this mural on this little bar/restaurant.

This is their elementary school. Notice the young girl. All of the kids wear uniforms. The girls wear white blouses, a dark skirt and long socks. The boys wear a white shirt and tie with long pants.

This street was narrow and cut out of the rock.

They had a nice little library. Interesting paint job!

This is the view from the back of our dive platform on the boat. The water is so clear, it looks like we are sitting on the bottom!

We were going to spend 2 nights anchored here but it is sooo windy and so far from shore we plan to move to a more sheltered anchorage tomorrow. See you there!
