Butterfly World

With Samba patiently awaiting our return to Cape Eleuthera in the Bahamas, we embarked on a long 4 day trip to get to her. This time, we drove to Florida with our granddaughter, Laurynn. We left our car at our boatyard in Stuart, rented a car & headed to Fort Lauderdale to catch a flight to the Bahamas.

With a little time to kill, we stopped off at Butterfly World which is just north of  Fort Lauderdale and had a wonderful time. With a working butterfly farm, and over 3 acres of butterfly and bird aviaries along with stunning botanical gardens, it was a great place to spend a warm afternoon.

The butterflies really seemed to like Jim.

Do you like his new wing tips? These guys really hung on while he was walking.

Some people have stockings. Carol has butterflies.

The lorikeet encounter was fun.

We closed out our 3rd day on the road with a relaxing siesta by the rooftop pool. Tomorrow, we return our rental car and go through a long day of flying and layovers. We should be at the marina by 6:30 or so
