Rock Sound & the Demon Dogs

Our 30 mile trip from Alabaster Bay to Rock Sound was pleasant and the timing was just right to have lunch at Frigates restaurant. This cute little Anglican church is near the center of town.

After lunch, we walked into town to check out the "Ocean Hole", a 600 foot deep blue hole in the middle of town.
Notice the cute painting of the 2 people looking out the window.
This is another painting on the other side of the same house. So cute!
It was a warm day so once we arrived at the Ocean Hole, John decided to check out the water.
Someplace down deep, the hole connects to the ocean. The water is salty and has lots of salt water fish in it.
After the Ocean Hole, we decided to hike to the "spider cave" which was maybe a mile out of town. On the way, we picked up a troupe of 3 friendly dogs who never left our side.
Next to the spider cave was the "boiling hole". This is a blue hole which appears to boil, depending on the tides. Though it wasn't boiling when we were there, it was pretty nonetheless.
The spider cave is reminiscent of Pirates of the Caribbean with lots of roots that found their way into the cave. There are also lots of holes in the roof and spider nests along some of the walls. Hence the name.
Of the 3 dogs who had befriended us, 1 didn't want anything to do with the cave. The other 2 came down the stairs but appeared to become demon dogs and wouldn't go any deeper than near the entrance. Funny.
Once back on the surface, they reverted to their former playful selves.

With such a hot day and long hike, we decided a stop for some liquid refreshment at a little beach bar to get some much-needed rehydration. Then, of course, we went for a dip back at Samba.

Tomorrow we head to Governor's Harbour to do some exploring at an abandoned Club Med resort. Should be interesting!
