8/15/15 St. Michaels, MD - Dunns

Saturday, 8/15/15 St. Michaels
St. Michaels is a very popular destination for boaters all over the Chesapeake. We had a little trouble finding a marina with any space. Finally, the Harbour Inn Spa & Marina found a spot for us.
Our slip was directly in front of the blue boat.
Parallel parking Samba is always interesting in tight quarters.

We fit

We left Oxford at 8:00 and arrived in St. Michaels right around 12:00. After tying up, we headed into town to find a place to have lunch.

St. Michaels has lots and lots of shops and beautiful old homes
Learning about boat restoration in the Maritime Museum.
The museum is the largest on the East coast and covers over
18 acres with a variety of displays and exhibits

Racing skipjacks is a big deal on the Chesapeake.
Notice how many people are on the hiking boards!

It was fun to watch some of the older local boats go by

Looking forward from our mooring. The marina had a
nice pool and restaurant right next to us.
Sunday, 8/16 St. Michaels to Annapolis
We awoke to a beautiful sunrise and headed out at 6:30 in order to get Tom & Tina back to Annapolis where Joe would pick them up and take them to the airport for their return trip home.

We said goodbye to the skipjack & lighthouse

A calm morning on the Chesapeake.
