Yorktown - Sunday, 9/14
Sunday morning, we walked through the shops in Yorktown up to the Victory Center which was about 1/2 mile out of town & up a hill to check out the sights. As it turned out, there wasn't much to see on that end of town but it was a delightful walk along the York River.

About the only boat traffic we saw on

We left Yorktown a little before noon. The wind had dropped, the river was calm and the sky was cloudless. A perfect day for our 30 mile trip to Hampton, VA.

Fort Monroe, though the largest fort in the US, was quite
well concealed. If we didn't know it was there, we would
have missed it! We plan to visit it tomorrow. |
